Settled

A coworker of mine recently got engaged and I was reflecting on how different my life is now compared to when John and I were engaged and then newly married.

Specifically, you know you've been married for awhile when you complain about the weather and being cold at night and your husband buys you the most unsexy set of long underwear. They are warm and cozy and I love them. He loves me too, or maybe he just got tired of the moaning and complaining.

And you know you're a parent when you get out of bed at 830AM and that counts as sleeping in.

Can you add any?

Hi, Kayris!

My husband and I dated for 7 years before we got married in 2005. We didn't live together before we got married, but there's a huge difference between dating and married life.

I have no problem leaving the door open when I use the bathroom (TMI, I know), asking him to pick up personal items for me at the store, or letting him see me shimmy into my Spanx tights in the morning.

Now the sleepwear and underwear still stay cute. We just bought a heated mattress pad to stay warm at night. :)

P.S. I'm a ShopRite blogger, too.

LOVE IT! You know you are old/settled/boring/mature when the most fabulous thing you can even imagine doing on a Friday night is going to bed at 9 p.m. with no one anywhere near you, especially your husband!
