Some years ago, my husband went to Chicago on a trip for work, and ordered shrimp one night for dinner. Except when they came, something wasn't quite right and it took a minute to figure out what it was. No Old Bay. So many hundreds of miles from Baltimore, it was strange to see a dish traditionally seasoned with Old Bay at home arrive naked.
Born in Baltimore 70 years ago, Old Bay is synonymous with crabs and seafood and the taste is deliciously unique. If you order shrimp here, it WILL come with Old Bay on it!
To celebrate the anniversary, I have a Basket Of The Bay to give away. I think I'd be extra cool rocking an Old Bay beach towel. My fav way to use old bay in on popcorn with lots of butter and cracked black pepper. Mmm.. spicy.
I've never used Ikd Bat, but my mouth is watering as I think of using it on shrimp and scallops.
I lived in Maryland the first 24 years of my life completely taking advantage of the accessability of the seafood from the chesapeake bay and the availibility of Old Bay seasoning on that seafood. When I moved to Missouri, Can you belive the shock i had when there was no OLD BAY in the grocery store... No one had ever heard of it when I asked about it either. When I go home to visit family and friends, I have to pick up a container of old bay to bring back to missouri. My friends love it and we use it on everything! Popcorn as mentioned by another poster, chicken, pork chops, and steaks on the grill are awesome... marinate in olive oil and old bay, and then toss on the grill. We also use it for the traditional seafood dishes as well and love making homemade crab cakes with the recipe on the container of old bay when ever we are luck enough to find REAL crab meat and not the immitation stuff in the store.
I love Old Bay on seafood. Now I have to try it on popcorn! - L

Since I was born and raised here in Baltimore, life just wouldn't be the same without Old Bay. My favorite way to use it, besides the obvious way on steamed crabs and shrimp, would have to be in Mac and cheese. It gives it a nice spicy kick. I also use it in macaroni, potato, tuna and egg salad as well as on fries and on cheese and crackers. Hell, I use it on just about everything :) Happy Birthday Old Bay!

I love using old bay when I make Paella. I add it to the rice and it tastes delish. I also like adding it to melted butter when we eat crab.

Growing up in MD I also grew up on Old Bay!!! It's hard to eat seafood when I know there probably isn't any Old Bay around....
My favorite use would definitely be on shrimp!! For sure.... but my parents rub LIMES on their corn(on the cob) and then sprinkle Old Bay... ok, that is awesome, too:)
