A Little Bit Of Humbug Humor

I don't know what it is this year, but I'm not feeling very Christmas-y. Maybe it's from too much to do and not enough time, or maybe there is something in the water, or maybe my holiday cheer is stuck back in the cat litter aisle at Wal-mart. Whatever the reason, I've been pretty grouchy lately, so I thought I would share my favorite Christmas joke with you.

Did you ever wonder where the custom of putting an angel on the top of the tree came from?

It was Christmas Eve and Santa was at his wit's end. Mrs. Claus had PMS and had locked herself in the bedroom, the elves were striking for more wages and a 401-K option, and the reindeer had gotten into the liquor cabinet and were too sloshed to pull the sleigh.

After being disconnected from the temp agency for the third time, Santa was beginning to wonder if Christmas was going to be a bust that year. Just then, there was a knock at the door.

When Santa opened the door, there stood an angel holding a tree. "Hi, Santa! Merry Christmas! What a beautiful night! Can you imagine a better time to be alive? Where would you like me to put this tree?"

And THAT is where the custom of putting an angel on the top of the tree comes from.
