Who Says TV Is All Bad?

This is a picture of a Monarch butterfly hanging out on the butterfly bush in our yard. This is not the greatest picture, but it's super hard to take a picture of something that keeps opening and closing its wings, especially when said thing is perched on a bush that is swaying in the wind.

Anyway, Johnny really likes his Little Einstein's video, Our Huge Adventure, in which Leo, June, Quincy and Annie help a monarch butterfly find his missing invitation to the butterfly family party, which is in Mexico, where monarchs migrate every year. It sounds cheesy, and it sort of is, but Johnny likes it.

When the monarchs first started showing up in our yard, Johnny spotted them and shouted, "Mom! An Einstein's butterfly in my yard!"

Sure, he could learn about butterflies someplace other than TV, but this is one thing I seriously doubt I would have taught him.

Who says TV should be forbidden?
