To Johnny On Your Third Birthday

Dear Johnny,

Today is your birthday. You are three years old. How you have grown! It seems like just yesterday we brought you home from the hospital, so tiny and fragile.

We watched you sleep, dressed you in blue, and prayed we'd be able to give you everything you deserve.

In no time at all, you were rolling over...



...sitting up...



...pulling up...



...and climbing.



You had your first Halloween...



...Christmas...



..St. Patrick's Day...



...and Easter.



Last year, you became a big brother.



All the little baby things that you used to do have become second nature. You've moved on to bigger and better milestones. You can count, jump, sing and play pretend. You use big words, you give hugs and kisses, you sleep in a big bed and drink from a regular cup.

You're silly...



...and funny...



...and goofy.



You're cute...



...and loving..



...and you're a good friend.



You're smart and independent and achingly precious. You're everything we could have hoped for. Happy Birthday, Johnny!
