Payback

When Johnny was a baby, he loved to test gravity during mealtime. He tossed his cup, dropped his utensils, chucked food. It made me bonkers.

Today he got a taste of his own medicine.

I was finishing up dinner and Maureen was in her high chair with a cup of formula. It ended up on the floor, and Johnny said, "Oh no, Maureen dropped her cup. I'll get it for her!" He hopped off his chair and retrieved it, then put it back on her tray. He had just climbed back up onto his own chair when the cup hit the floor again. He got down and picked it back up. After the third time, I stood and watched. He would put the cup on her tray, then while he got on his chair, Maureen very deliberately pushed it to the edge and knocked it off. Johnny never seemed to realize that she was doing it on purpose though.

Sir Isaac Newton would be proud.

Isn't it nice to have Johnny around to play that game so you don't have to?
